More hijinks

Thursday night was "Australia Day", so we drank with some Australians and painted our faces/arms with Neon paint. Met a "nice" Australian girl, but then decided it would be a better idea to go to a Reggae bar, where they have a Muay Thai rink. This guy immediately says, "do you want to fight", and I say sure! So the Thai guy says that I should just take off my clothes and put on the little Muay Thai shorts. I fought one round against a pretty good fighter who was probably 6' and 190-200, and it was a draw. Then I fought two rounds against a little guy that seemed to be a very good fighter, and knocked him down with a haymaker and ended up winning by decision!

After the fight I went to "hippie bar" on the beach and ran into Micheal, the Aussie from our snorkling trip. He was drinking with two Irishman, so all of us got buckets of rum and coke...which is kind of the Thai style drink. So Most of the girls were grossed out by my sweatiness the rest of the night...but this girl from Isreal who was sitting on the beach at Hippie bar yelled "hey kickboxer", and then told me she was really impressed by the fact that I was so nice in the ring. I was just trying to let the guys I fought against know I had no animosity, but she said that most guys in the ring just try to kill each other while I looked like I was being respectful of them. So she and I had these deep, meaningful life conversations for a while. Then after we exchanged emails and she invited me to come to Isreal (I asked if I should worry about holy wars/beheadings and such and she said no), I proceeded on my way home.

At the room, I find that Josh has tried to pick the lock with a piece of wood because I had the key (not sure why he left me early, guess he couldn't find me), so two Thai men were pulling a peice of wood out of the lock. Seriously, I can't take that guy anywhere.

I do have a black eye, sore joints everywhere, and a swollen toe from jamming on the mat, and a chipped tooth, but it was so worth it. Josh got video footage, so I'll post it later with more detail of the fight!!! Went to Phuket yesterday (Friday) and had another wild night...but I'll have to post about that later too. Johan and Johnny from Sweden are waiting right next to me to go have lunch with Josh and I before we head to Bangkok. Tomorrow I fly to Hong Kong :(
